Treatment Methods

Clinical Methods of Regulatory Medicine

Dr. Mark Litvak's practice employs methods aimed not at suppressing symptoms,
but at restoring disrupted regulation between the brain, nervous system, and body.

Each method is selected individually, taking into account:

  • Current symptoms
  • Type of regulatory load
  • Nervous system response
  • Clinical treatment goals

Psychosomatic Integration

Understanding the mind-body connection Primary tool: Context analysis and emotional pattern recognition

Each method is chosen based on:

✓ Your specific symptoms

✓ Active regulation mode

✓ Individual response patterns

✓ Treatment goals

What is psychosomatics?

Psychosomatics is the study of how psychological factors affect physical symptoms through real physiological mechanisms.

Key principle: "Psychosomatic" does not mean "imaginary."

It means: emotional and mental states directly influence bodily functions through the nervous system, hormonal, and immune pathways.

How mental state affects the body:

The stress → brain → body chain:

  1. Psychological trigger (anxiety, fear, conflict, loss of control)
  2. Brain activates stress response
  3. Changes in the nervous system: • Blood vessel constriction/dilation • Increased muscle tension • Altered digestive function • Immune response modulation • Heightened pain sensitivity
  4. Physical symptoms appear: • Headaches, muscle pain • Digestive disturbances • Breathing difficulties • Skin reactions • Cardiovascular symptoms

Why symptoms persist:

    When stress becomes chronic:

    • The nervous system remains in "alert mode"
    • The body never fully recovers
    • Symptoms become self-reinforcing
    • The person develops anxiety about the symptoms (creating even more stress)

This creates a vicious cycle: Stress → Symptom → Anxiety about symptom → More stress → Worsening symptom

    Our psychosomatic approach:

        Context Analysis
        We explore:

        • When did symptoms first appear?
        • What was happening in your life?
        • What triggers make them worse?
        • What circumstances bring relief?

        Emotional Pattern Recognition

        We identify:

        • Recurring stress themes
        • Emotional triggers
        • Behavioral patterns maintaining symptoms
        • Coping mechanisms (helpful and unhelpful)

        Breaking the symptom-anxiety cycle

        We help you:

        • Understand symptoms as signals, not threats
        • Distinguish between dangerous and functional symptoms
        • Reduce catastrophic thinking
        • Develop healthy response patterns

        Integration with physical methods

         Psychosomatic work combines with:

        • Neurophysiological regulation (breathing, rhythm)
        • Vibroacoustic therapy (physical restoration)
        • Su Jok (intervention in reflex pathways)

        What we DON'T do:

❌ We don't "dig into childhood"

❌ We don't impose psychological interpretations

❌ We don't dismiss your symptoms as "just stress"

❌ We don't replace necessary medical treatment

        What we DO:

✓ Acknowledge that symptoms are real

✓ Help identify factors maintaining behavior

✓ Provide practical tools for regulation

        ✓ Support understanding, not judgment

        Common psychosomatic patterns:

High responsibility + Perfectionism → Chronic muscle tension, headaches, digestive issues

Chronic worry + Loss of control → Anxiety symptoms, breathing difficulties, sleep problems

Suppressed emotions + "Keeping it together" → Pain syndromes, fatigue, immune system issues

Trauma + Hypervigilance → Heightened pain sensitivity, chronic tension, panic symptoms

        Clinical applications:

        • Chronic pain without structural cause
        • Tension headaches and migraines
        • Irritable bowel syndrome
        • Chronic fatigue
        • Fibromyalgia
        • Post-traumatic stress symptoms
        • Physical symptoms related to anxiety
        • Recurrent infections (immune system dysregulation)

        What you gain:

        •  Understanding of symptom origins
        •  Recognition of your personal triggers
        •  Tools to interrupt stress-symptom cycles
        •  Reduced health anxiety
        •  Better symptom management
        •  Improved quality of life

        Important: This approach requires:

        • Openness to the mind-body connection
        • Willingness to honestly observe patterns
        • Patience (change takes time)
        • Continuation of necessary medical care

We work collaboratively. Your observations about your own experience are valuable data.

        Neurophysiological Regulation

Restoring nervous system balance Primary tool: Breathing, rhythm, and regulation trainingNeurophysiological Regulation Restoring balance through nervous system training

        What it is:
Your nervous system has two main branches:

        • Sympathetic (activation, stress response)
        • Parasympathetic (rest, recovery, digestion)

Under chronic stress, the system can get "stuck" in activation mode, leading to:

        • Chronic muscle tension
        • Sleep disturbances
        • Digestive problems
        • Increased anxiety
        • Amplified pain

        How we work with this:

        Breathing Techniques

        • Extended exhale to activate parasympathetic response
        • Diaphragmatic breathing to calm the nervous system
        • Rhythmic breathing to restore natural regulation

        Body
        Awareness

        • Recognizing tension zones
        • Gentle relaxation practices
        • Movement to support regulation

        Rhythm Restoration

        • Sleep-wake cycle optimization
        • Meal timing recommendations
        • Activity-rest balance

        Stress Pattern Recognition

        • Identifying triggers
        • Awareness of early warning signs
        • Preventive strategies

        What you'll learn:

✓ How to recognize your nervous system state

✓ Tools to shift from tension to calm

✓ Self-regulation methods for daily use

✓ When symptoms signal real danger versus regulation issues

        Conditions this helps:

        • Chronic tension and pain
        • Anxiety symptoms and panic attacks
        • Sleep disturbances
        • Digestive disorders
        • Chronic fatigue
        • Post-traumatic stress disorders

Timeline: Many people notice initial changes within 1-2 weeks of regular practice.

Important: This is not "relaxation advice." This is specific neurophysiological training based on how your autonomic nervous system actually functions.

        Vibroacoustic Therapy

Microcirculation and tissue regeneration Primary tool: Therapeutic microvibration technology.

        Vibroacoustic Therapy
The invisible force of the body's regeneration.

        What is microvibration?

In healthy tissues, natural microvibrations constantly occur:

        • From muscle contractions
        • From heartbeat
        • From breathing
        • From cellular activity

These vibrations (20-18,000 Hz, amplitude up to 100 microns) are essential for:

        • Substance transport at the cellular level
        • Immune cell movement
        • Metabolic processes
        • Tissue regeneration

        The problem:

In areas of pathology, injury, or chronic tension, natural microvibration energy becomes insufficient, leading to:

        • Slowed healing
        • Reduced medication effectiveness
        • Chronic inflammation
        • Poor circulation

        How vibroacoustic therapy works:

        Mechanism 1: Accelerated Microcirculation

External microvibration with constantly changing frequency:
        • Compensates for tissue vibration deficit
        • Accelerates transport of blood cells and molecules
        • Facilitates substance movement between capillaries and tissues

Mechanism 2: Activation of Venous and Lymphatic Pumps

Microvibration affects veins and lymphatic vessels with valves, creating a "micro-pump effect":
        • Improved venous drainage
        • Enhanced lymph flow
        • Reduced swelling and congestion

        Key finding:

Studies show nearly a twofold increase in venous pressure during vibroacoustic therapy, confirmed by laser Doppler flowmetry.

        Clinical applications:

        Cardiovascular System

        • Hypertension treatment
        • Improved blood pressure regulation
        • Enhanced cerebral circulation

        Musculoskeletal System

        • Reduced chronic pain
        • Post-surgical recovery
        • Accelerated tissue repair
        • Anti-adhesion effect

        Respiratory System

        • SARS/ARVI treatment (35% faster recovery)
        • Reduced post-infection fatigue (64% shorter)
        • Best results when treatment begins within 24 hours of symptom onset

        Post-operative and Trauma

        • Rapid swelling reduction
        • Accelerated regeneration
        • Complication prevention

        Urology

        • Benign prostatic hyperplasia
        • Chronic prostatitis
        • Improved circulation and reduced congestion

        What you'll experience:

        • Non-invasive, comfortable procedure
        • Session duration: 10-30 minutes
        • Warmth and relaxation often felt immediately
        • Gradual symptom improvement over the course of treatment

Why it works better in severe cases:

Vibroacoustic therapy accelerates processes directed toward homeostasis (balance).

It doesn't change the direction of physiological processes - it facilitates movement in the direction already set by the body.

Result: More pronounced dysfunction = more impressive effect.

        Safety:

        • No side effects identified with proper application
        • Contraindications: acute bleeding, thrombosis, pacemakers
        • Works in combination with standard medical treatment

Evidence base: Over 40 years of clinical application, instrumentally confirmed with:

        • Laser Doppler flowmetry (microcirculation measurement)
        • Electromyography (muscle function)
        • Somatosensory evoked potentials (nerve conduction)

        Su Jok Therapy

Neuroreflexive pathways through hands/feet Primary tool: Point stimulation and zone therapy.

Su Jok Therapy - Neuroreflexive Method Through Hands and Feet

        What is Su Jok?

Su Jok is a method of stimulating zones and points on the hands and feet that are functionally connected to organs and systems of the body.

        Modern physiological explanation:

        • Hands and feet have extremely high receptor density
        • They have large cortical representation (the brain intensely "feels" them)
        • Stimulation of specific zones triggers reflexive reactions
        • Through nerve pathways, this affects tone, blood flow, sensitivity, and spasms
        • The body receives signals for self-regulation and restoration

How it works: Point → Nervous System → Body Response

Point stimulation (hand/foot) → nerve signal → regulation centers → organ/muscle/vascular system response

This is not belief or suggestion—it's action through the nervous system's sensory signals.

Why hands and feet are so effective:

Hands and feet are like a "control panel" because:

        • High density of nerve endings
        • Large cortical brain representation
        • Stimulation in these areas often leads to rapid regulatory effects

        Tools used:

        Point Stimulation (massage/pressure) Suitable for:

        • Pain, spasms, muscle tension
        • Functional symptoms
        • Stress-related tension

Seed Therapy Seeds provide gentle, prolonged point stimulation (typically several hours). Used as a "session continuation" between treatments.

Magnetic Modulation Magnet = directional control (not "energy")

        • Polarity (+/−) chosen based on task (tonifying or calming)
        • Important: magnet and color are different axes of influence

Color Application Color = quality of influence (activation/inhibition), used for fine-tuning.

        Key Algorithm:

        1. First: magnet (direction)
        2. Then: color (quality)
        3. Don't change magnet and color simultaneously
        4. Check response after 5-15 minutes

        Commonly treated conditions:

        • Muscle tension, neck/back pain
        • Tension headaches
        • Stress and anxiety-related tension
        • Sleep disturbances
        • Functional gastrointestinal reactions (spasms, discomfort)
        • Recovery after overload/illness

What people typically experience during and after treatment:

        • Relaxation
        • Warmth in the response zone
        • Reduced muscle tension
        • Pain relief
        • Improved breathing/sleep
        • "Calming" of the nervous system

Important: This doesn't replace diagnosis but supports regulation.

        Session process:

        1. Brief medical questionnaire + goal (pain/sleep/stress/spasms)
        2. Finding confirming points on hand/foot
        3. Stimulation (massage/seeds/magnet/color—depending on indications)
        4. Recommendations for 24-72 hours (self-application, seeds, response observation)

        Key concept for patients:

Su Jok is a way to "influence" the nervous system through hands and feet, activate self-regulation, and reduce symptoms as overload signals.

        Safety:

We use gentle methods of influence. But there are situations requiring prior medical consultation:

        • Severe, worsening pain
        • Chest pain, significant shortness of breath
        • Sudden weakness/numbness
        • Bleeding, high fever
        • Pregnancy with concerning symptoms

Dr. Mark's methods do not replace medical diagnosis, but enhance the body's ability for self-regulation and restoration in combination with necessary clinical treatment.
